MIS CANCIONES FAVORITAS: HACE 25 AÑOS (1987-V)

Llegamos al cuarto miércoles del mes y hoy es turno de presentar el segmento musical dedicado a 1987, hace 25 años, cuando el que escribe contaba con 24 años.  Y en esta oportunidad tendremos dos canciones provenientes del muy buen album “TANGO IN THE NIGHT” del gran grupo angloamericano Fleetwood Mac.

1.-  LITTLE LIES (Fleetwood Mac).-  Sin duda alguna, uno de los regresos más esperados y exitosos en 1987 fue el del legendario grupo Fleetwood Mac. Tras el gran éxito del album “MIRAGE” en 1982, algunos miembros de la banda incursionaron en proyectos solistas entre 1983 y 1986, destacando a nivel comercial. Pero también se comenzaba a extrañar algo de la banda y el año 87 representó el regreso de Fleetwood Mac por todo lo alto con el album “TANGO IN THE NIGHT”, el cual francamente parecía un “Greatest Hits” por la cantidad de muy buenos temas que tenía. Además, este fue el caso de un grupo que conservaba su clásico estilo pero con un sonido más moderno, acorde con la década del 80.  No era una reiteración de lo mismo. Y entre esos temas, el que más me gustó fue la gran canción “Little Lies”. Me atrapó desde que la escuché por primera vez por su gran ritmo, su impecable melodía y su magnífica interpretación por parte de Christine McVie.

"Little Lies" fue escrita por Christine McVie y su ex esposo, Eddy Quintela y producida por Lindsey Buckingham y Richard Dashut. Fue lanzada como tercer single del album “TANGO IN THE NIGHT” el 29 de Agosto de 1987 y llegó al Nº 4 en USA, según Billboard, siendo su último Top 10 en USA hasta el día de hoy. Además fue también Nº 1 por 4 semanas en el USA Adult Contemporary Charts y Nº 5 en UK. 25 años después, es momento de volver a recordar este muy hermoso tema en el blog.

2.-  SEVEN WONDERS (Fleetwood Mac).-  Y siguiendo con este gran album "TANGO IN THE NIGHT", la otra canción que también me encantó de principio a fin, fue el delicioso tema “Seven Wonders”. Considero que era el tema que más se parecía al Fleetwood Mac antiguo, incluso en algunos psajes de la canción con algunos guiños al tema “Sara” y con este ritmo marcado por la impecable batería de Mick Fleetwood, que marcaba el compás de la canción con su muy buena base rítmica. Y por supuesta, con la sublime interpretación de la encantadora Stevie Nicks.

"Seven Wonders" fue escrita por Sandy Stewart y Stevie Nicks, quien agregó algunas letras adicionales y fue producida por Lindsey Buckingham y Richard Dashut. Y fue lanzada como segundo single del “TANGO IN THE NIGHT” el 20 de Junio de 1987, llegando al Nº 19 en USA, según Billboard. También fue Nº 2 en el U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks, Nº 13 en el U.S. Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Charts, Nº 23 en Australia, Nº 28 en Irlanda, Nº 29 en Suiza, Nº 34 en Japón, Nº 44 en España, Nº 47 en Alemania y Nº 56 en UK.  25 años después, esta muy buena canción sigue perdurando en el recuerdo y es motivo para volver a recordar en el presente post.

Este ha sido el quinto segmento musical de 1987. Espero que este par de muy buenos temas hayan sido de agrado y como siempre, los espero con sus visitas y comentario. Hasta el mes de junio, en el que tendremos dos canciones de una recordada cantante británica que destacó en ese año 1987. Pero antes, como estamos en el mes de aniversario, ya que el 19 este blog cumple 3 años en el ciberespacio, les dejo un plus de Fleetwood Mac de este mismo año 1987. Un tema muy bueno, y que me gusta mucho. Se quedan con "Everywhere", en la voz de la gran Christine McVie. Será hasta el miércoles 20 de Junio. Hasta entonces.
