MIS CANCIONES FAVORITAS: HACE 30 AÑOS (1986-III)

Llegamos al tercer miércoles de Marzo, y es momento de compartir contigo el segmento musical de 1986, hace 30 años, cuando el que escribe contaba con 23 años de edad. Como estamos en el mes de la Mujer, en este mes tendremos dos segmento de 1986, hoy y el próximo miércoles, y para el día de hoy, he querido escoger dos buenos temas de dos recordadas cantantes femeninas.

1.-  MAD ABOUT YOU (Belinda Carlisle).-  Luego de la disolución de del grupo femenino The Go-Go’s, había la expectativa por ver que depararía una carrera solista de Belinda Carlisle, vocalista del grupo. Y en 1986, se escuchó el nuevo tema de Belinda llamado “Mad About You”. Recuerdo que aquí en nuestro medio, se escuchó bastante en Radio Doble Nueve y menor grado, en las otras emisoras de radio locales. El tema tenía muy buen ritmo melódico, sin llegar a la energía y adrenalina de las Go-Go’s. La canción fue escrita por Paula Jean Brown, James Whelan y Mitchel Young Evans, y producida por Michael Lloyd. Fue lanzada como primer single del álbum “BELINDA”, llegando al N° 3 en USA, según Billboard. Además fue N° 1 en Canadá, N° 9 en Australia, N° 25 en el USA Adult Contemporary Charts, N° 28 en Irlanda y N° 67 en UK. “Mad About You” fue una de las pocas canciones a ser consideradas para un nuevo álbum del grupo, pero ante la disolución del grupo, terminó en el álbum debut de Belinda. En cuanto el video clip del tema, fue dirigido por Leslie Libman, y contó con la participación de Andy Taylor –de Duran Duran- en el solo de guitarra y del esposa de Belinda, Morgan Mason. 30 años después, es momento de recordar ésta muy buena canción. 2.-  CHAIN REACTION (Diana Ross).-  Debo ser sincero, en su momento nunca escuché de esta canción y años después, supe que en 1986 Diana Ross había lanzado un single con el título “Chain Reaction”. Y nada más. Muchos años después, cuando en el 2001 ví un documental de los Bee Gees, supe que este tema había sido escrito por los Gibb. Allí despertó mi curiosidad, y francamente, al escucharla, tenía todo ese estilo melódico de los Gibb y me gustó mucho. El tema fue escrito por Barry, Robin y Maurice Gibb, quienes además participaron en los coros del tema. Fue incluido en el álbum “EATEN ALIVE” y lanzada como single el 28 de Noviembre de 1985 en USA y el 13 de Febrero de 1986 en UK, llegando al N° 1 en UK. Además fue N° 1 en Australia, N° 3 en Nueva Zelanda, N° 11 en Francia, N° 20 en Francia y Suiza, N° 40 en Canadá y Holanda, y N° 66 en USA. Han pasado tres décadas y vale le pena compartir este tema contigo. Disfrútalo.
