ANGLO 60'S: BEATLES & STONES LXVI

Llegamos al primer viernes del mes de Noviembre, y hoy toca presentar el segmento musical “Anglo 60’s”, dedicado a un tema musical de los Beatles y los Rolling Stones. En este Noviembre, para ser más exactos, el domingo 29 se cumplen 14 años de la partida del gran George Harrison. Y como se viene haciendo en el blog, siempre ponemos en este mes un tema cantado y/o compuesto por George. Adicionalmente, como lo he señalado en un anterior post, en este 2015 se han cumplido 50 años del lanzamiento del álbum “HELP!”, y por tal motivo, en este mes y en diciembre, tendremos un tema de dicho álbum.

1.-  YOU LIKE ME TOO MUCH (The Beatles).-  Ha transcurrido ya medio siglo desde la aparición del álbum “HELP!” –y también el film-, y en este año he querido recordar este aniversario importante de uno de mis discos favoritos de los Beatles. Y recordando al buen George Harrison a 14 años de su partida, he querido incluir su muy buen tema “You Like Too Much”, una canción con un buen ritmo melódico y ese estilo interpretativo característico de George. El tema fue escrito por George y producido por George Martin. Fue grabado el 17 de Febrero en estudio Abbey Road 2, y sería uno de los dos temas escritos por George en este álbum. Además, desde su primer álbum “WITH THE BEATLES”, se volvió a incluir temas compuestos por George en un álbum, y de esta forma, “HELP!” fue lanzado el 6 de Agosto de 1965. Medio siglo después, es momento de recordar a George con esta buena canción.

2.-  HITCH HIKE (The Rolling Stones).-  En 1965, los Rolling Stones lanzaron el álbum “OUT OF OUR HEADS” y dentro de este álbum, el tema elegido para hoy es “Hitch Hike”, que originalmente fue escrito por Marvin Gaye, William "Mickey" Stevenson y Clarence Paul en 1962. Años después, en 1965 fue grabado por los Rolling Stones, siendo producido por Andrew Loog Oldham, e incluido en el álbum “OUT OF OUR HEADS”, que fue lanzado el 30 de Julio de 1965 en USA y el 24 de Setiembre en UK. Han pasado 50 años, y vale la pena escuchar este tema.
