ABBA: ONE MAN, ONE WOMAN

Llegamos el cuarto y ultimo viernes del mes, y como es costumbre, hoy toca presenter el segmento musical dedicado a un tema musical del cuarteto sueco ABBA. Y buscando un tema apropiado para este mes de San Valentín, he querido elegir un hermoso tema de 1976, proveniente de su gran álbum “ARRIVAL”: “One Man, One Woman”. Recuerdo que escuché por primera vez este tema en 1993 -con cierto retraso-, cuando me conseguí en Polvos Azules en VHS del video de “GOLD”. En la década del 70, no lo pude escuchar porque nunca tuve en mis manos el álbum “THE ALBUM” y nunca había llegado a verla en algún video del grupo cantándola. Y en el film “ABBA – THE MOVIE” tampoco figuraba este tema. Y la verdad es que me gustó la canción y el video, y sobre todo, la belleza y sensualidad que emanaba de Frida, quien miraba la cámara con una coquetería natural e innata, capaz de desarmar a cualquiera. Ya cuando escuché el maravilloso álbum “THE ALBUM”, realmente su ubicación en dicho álbum fue precisa y encajó de manera perfecta.

“One Man, One Woman” fue escrita y producida por Benny Andersson y Björn Ulvaeus. Fue incluida en el album "THE ALBUM", pero no fue lanzada como single. Sin embargo, era uno de los más bellos album tracks de dicho LP. La letra del tema habla sobre una pareja que trata de salvar su matrimonio. En este tema, los instrumentos que se utilizaron fueron el piano, los sintetizadorses y cuerdas. La canción fue descrita en "Let The Music Speak" como una de los temas de ABBA que refleja una mirada introspectiva de la fragilidad de las relaciones humanas. Y no es por nada, pero Frida lo canta con un sentimiento desbordante que va a la par con la inseguridad y falta de fe descritas en la letra del tema. Y en lo que respecta a su performance en vivo, nunca fue interpretada por el cuarteto en sus shows, ni en la gira de 1979 y 1980.  Han pasado más de 35 años de este tema y sigue siendo recordado por los fans de ABBA.
