THE MOODY BLUES: LOST IN A LOST WORLD

Llegamos al segundo viernes del mes de Noviembre, y hoy corresponde presentar el segmento musical dedicado a una canción de los MOODY BLUES. Como ya es costumbre desde hace algunos años, debido al hecho que en Diciembre son los cumpleaños de Mike Pinder y Ray Thomas, en estos dos últimos meses del año, siempre tenemos un tema de Mike para Noviembre y uno de Ray para Diciembre. Y para este mes, he querido elegir el muy buen tema de Mike, proveniente del álbum “SEVENTH SOJOURN”: “Lost In A Lost World”. En 1972, los Moody Blues lanzaron el que sería su séptimo álbum desde la llegada de Justin Hayward y John Lodge a la banda, cerrando así un período prolífico y brillante, conocido por los fans como “The Core 7”. Y precisamente, esta canción era la que daba inicio a este buen trabajo musical y su ubicación en el álbum era más que precisa, por su buen ritmo y la estupenda interpretación de Mike. En mi opinión muy personal, uno de los mejores temas de Mike dentro de la banda.

“Lost In A Lost World” fue escrita por Mike Pinder y producida por Tony Clarke. Fue grabada entre Enero y Setiembre de 1972 en el Decca Tollington Park Studios, en Londres y fue un álbum track del “SEVENTH SOJOURN”, el cual fue lanzado el 23 de Octubre de 1972 en UK y el 10 de Noviembre de 1972 en USA. Y en cuanto a la letra, es bastante crítica de la situación que rodea al mundo, lamentando la brutalidad de las revoluciones y haciendo referencias a tensiones raciales.  En lo que se refiere a su performance en vivo, nunca llegó a ser interpretado por la banda en la gira del “SEVENTH SOJOURN” y siendo un tema de Mike, luego de su apartamiento de la banda, posteriormente el tema nunca fue incluido en show alguno del grupo. Hasta el próximo mes de Diciembre, en donde estaremos recordando a Ray Thomas por su cumpleaños número 74.  Será hasta el viernes 11 de Diciembre. Hasta entonces.
